Sister's appeal over London girl who went missing in 1979
Michelle Hooper says the family still seeks answers after police released new e-fits and said three boys may hold vital information.
The Metropolitan Police launched a fresh appeal on the 47th anniversary of Suzanne Lawrence's 1979 disappearance, as her sister Michelle Hooper issued an emotional plea for information to solve the decades-old mystery.
On July 27, 1979, Suzanne and her 13-year-old sister Michelle left their Harold Hill home for central London, telling their mother they would stay with friends in Dagenham. Michelle returned five days later following an argument, but Suzanne never came home.
Investigators believe three boys, aged approximately 14 to 17 from the Highbury or Islington area, met the sisters at a fair on Highbury Fields and took them to a local squat where they stayed two nights before Michelle's departure.
Detective Chief Inspector Kam Sodhi released e-fit images showing how Suzanne might appear at age 61, stating the boys involved may hold "vital information" about her movements after her sister's return.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed they are "keeping an open mind" about her disappearance circumstances. Anyone with information can contact police at 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
