Despite the fact that three Hungarian competitors finally made it to the semifinals of the European Short Track Speed Skating Championships women's 500 meters, only Petra Jászapáti was able to qualify for the final late Sunday afternoon. In the final, after a dramatic event, the Hungarian competitor won the gold medal.

Hiába jutott be végül három magyar versenyző is a rövidpályás gyorskorcsolya Európa-bajnokság női 500 méteres távjának elődöntőjébe, csak Jászapáti Petra tudta kvalifikálni magát a vasárnap késő délutáni döntőbe.
