‘Clayface’ Aims to Give DC Studios a Box Office Win as ‘You Can See Everything’ Stays Strong
The Elizabeth Holmes documentary expanded to 2,600 theaters after a $15.6 million debut and could become the first documentary since 2018 to top $30 million in its second weekend.
Warner Bros.' R-rated horror film Clayface opens this weekend, facing unexpected box office competition from A24's documentary You Can See Everything for the No. 1 spot.
Directed by James Watkins, Clayface is the first Warner Bros. film released under Skydance ownership, carrying a $44 million production budget designed to deliver the studio a needed win.
Clayface is projected to earn $25 million to $30 million domestically from over 3,400 theaters, while You Can See Everything expands to approximately 2,600 locations after its strong $15.6 million debut.
Additional debuts this weekend include Laika Studios' stop-motion animated Wildwood from director Travis Knight and Sony's Klara and the Sun, starring Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams.
You Can See Everything has earned $20.8 million to date, marking the biggest nonmusical documentary opening in 22 years and establishing itself as a rare sustained box office phenomenon.
