Croatian police and officers from the Office for the Prevention of Corruption and Organized Crime (USKOK) have arrested Mile Kekin, the singer of the former music band Hladno pivo and the husband of a member of parliament from the green-left party Zmoremo!, as part of an anti-corruption investigation.
Uskok did not disclose the details of the investigation, but said that arrests and searches of apartments were being carried out in order to collect evidence.
The well-known musician Mile Kekin, the husband of MP Mozemo Ivana Kekin and the former frontman of Hladni Pivo, was arrested today as part of the USKOK operation investigating the abuse of position in Buje in Istria.
Police also arrested his wife Ivana Kekin and several others.
"I still don't know what I did wrong. Until now I've only read about it, and now I can write poems about it," Kekin wrote on Facebook.
On Friday, USKOK reported new arrests being made in Zagreb and Istria for abuse of office and authority and money laundering. Among those arrested is singer Mile Kekin, husband of Ivana Kekin, MP and candidate for president of the Možemo! party. Reactions to the arrest are ongoing.
