The latest European defense debate over the so-called drone wall is dividing countries that want immediate protection from Russia and those that are further away from the threat. It is essentially a system of radars and interceptors that would help protect eastern NATO members.
The "drone wall" Europe claims to be working on wrongly gives the impression that no unwelcome drones will be allowed in, says NATO chief Mark Rutte. A more realistic name is needed, Rutte said on Nieuwsuur.
For countries further west, the plan seems unrealistic and too expensive.
