(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Malaysia will add two naturalized players, striker Bergson da Silva and central defender Giancarlo Gallifuoco, to their squad for the match against Vietnam in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers on March 31st.
According to Indonesian news outlet Superball.ID, AFC Secretary General Windsor Paul John was very "active" in requesting FIFA to clarify the eligibility of seven Malaysian players who had illegally naturalized themselves, so that they could play in the match against Vietnam on March 31st. But he was unsuccessful.
Although the outcome is not yet finalized, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has repeatedly released information unfavorable to the Malaysian national team in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.
