Double blow for Romanians. Electricity bills arrived after the cap was removed. As if it weren't enough that the tariffs are much higher, the bills were calculated at 21% VAT, not 19%, as it was in July. Customers are outraged, and even the Minister of Energy has asked for clarification. However, the Finance Ministry says that VAT is applied based on the payment date provided for in the contract, and not the period of consumption.
