The 'Big Catch-Up' initiative, led by the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF and the Gavi Vaccine Alliance, has benefited some 18.3 million children aged one to five in Africa and Asia who had incomplete vaccination schemes as a result of the health interruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Over 100 million doses administered and 18.3 million children between 1 and 5 years reached in 36 countries: it is the budget of the Big Catch-Up, the largest global vaccine recovery initiative launched in 2023 to counter the drop in coverage caused by the pandemic.
