On Thursday 18 December 2025, Naval Group handed over its first Defence and Intervention Frigate (IDF) to Greece during a ceremony at its site in Lorient (Morbihan). Three more of these new generation frigates are expected to follow this first delivery, two of them from 2026, the last of which was ordered in November. Kimon, by the IDF's name delivered on Thursday, is due to leave the waters of Lorient at the beginning of January 2026.
