- To broaden its slate, TMC has denied tickets to four sitting ministers, including Biplab Roy Chowdhury, and includes 95 SC/ST and 52 women candidates, leaving three seats for BGPM in Kalimpong, Darjeeling and Kurseong.
- Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will contest Bhabanipur against Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, while TMC's Pabitra Kar challenges him in Nandigram; Madan Mitra and Kunal Ghosh also contest key seats.
- Across constituencies, TMC placed senior leaders including Firhad Hakim and Bankim Chandra Hazra to strengthen key seats.
- The polls are set for April 23 and April 29, with counting of votes for the 294-member West Bengal Assembly scheduled on May 4.
