At a TED lecture in London, Yuval Noah Harari asked the question: “What do we need so many people for?” As an advisor to the World Economic Forum, he predicted that the rapid development of computer technology “will make people obsolete”, leading to a “huge class of useless people”. According to him, these people should be kept happy “with drugs and computer games”.
