SpaceX Launches Falcon 9 Rocket Overnight

Transporter-16 mission launched 119 smallsats including cubesats and microsats, supporting over 25 global customers, continuing SpaceX's rideshare program with 592 booster landings total.

  • On Monday, SpaceX launched the Transporter-16 mission from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, carrying 119 payloads into Sun-synchronous, low Earth orbit.
  • The Transporter-16 mission continues SpaceX's rideshare series, which has lofted more than 1,600 payloads across two programs, including a single-launch record of 143 on Transporter-1.
  • Exolaunch and Seops Space managed the majority of the manifest, which includes "cubesats, microsats, hosted payloads, a reentry vehicle, and orbital transfer vehicles," SpaceX wrote.
  • The Falcon 9 first stage booster, B1093, completed its 12th flight and landed on the droneship "Of Course I Still Love You," marking the 187th landing on that vessel.
  • Notable payloads include Varda Space's reentry satellite bus for on-orbit manufacturing and K2 Space's Gravitas satellite, the so-called "cake topper," with a 40-meter wingspan.
