Shane Gillis Drops F-Bomb on SNL
The comedian apologized as Mikey Day and Andrew Dismukes stayed in character and the sketch kept going after the slip.
On Saturday, October 10, 2026, host Shane Gillis accidentally dropped an F-bomb during a Green Eggs and Ham sketch on Saturday Night Live while playing an aggressively protective son defending his father.
The profanity adds another chapter to Gillis's complicated history with Saturday Night Live, where he was fired in 2019 after resurfaced podcast clips featured racist and homophobic remarks.
Alongside co-stars Mikey Day and Andrew Dismukes, Gillis interrupted the scene as Sam-I-Am pressured his on-screen father to eat green eggs and ham; Day later worked the blunder into the performance.
Gillis acknowledged the mishap immediately, saying 'Sorry about that' at the end of the sketch, while the rare profanity quickly gained attention on social media.
Live profanity remains rare on the show; host Sam Rockwell last used the expletive in 2018. Gillis has hosted Saturday Night Live three times since his 2019 dismissal.
