Vice President JD Vance to Speak in Belgrade Monday
The crowd of hundreds responded with mixed groans and laughter to the mispronunciation, according to local media reports.
Vice President Vance held a campaign rally at Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport in Belgrade, Montana, today to support Republican candidates ahead of the Nov 3 election.
During his remarks, Vance mispronounced Helena, the state capital, drawing groans from the crowd as he introduced Republican Senate candidate Kurt Alme.
Vance campaigned for Republican Senate candidate Kurt Alme and Republican House candidate Aaron Flint, who faces a competitive race against Democrat Sam Forstag in western Montana.
The rally prompted security coordination among federal, state, and local agencies, with airport officials warning that increased vehicle traffic could create challenges for passengers.
Vance is scheduled to campaign in Kansas later today before traveling to Michigan on Tuesday to continue his tour supporting Republican candidates.
