Voters narrowly support Trump's tariff pitch, Reuters/Ipsos poll finds
Donald Trump’s proposal for increased tariffs on imports, especially from China, is favored by a narrow majority of US voters, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll.
Around 56% of registered voters are more likely to support a candidate endorsing a 10% tariff on all imports and a 60% tariff on imports from China.
Swing voters primarily supported pro-tariff candidates; notably, 1 in 3 Democrat voters would prefer a candidate advocating for higher tariffs.
