Victoria’s Highland Games celebrates 163 years of Scottish heritage
Thousands attended the two-day festival, which featured caber tosses, pipe bands and Highland dancing as organizers said it drew well above 10,000 visitors.
The Highland Games are believed to date back to the 11th century, originating in the rugged terrain of Scotland. Thought to have begun as a way to identify the country’s mightiest warriors, the event featured strength-based contests across a wide range of disciplines.
