National Recall Issued for Victoria-Based Hard Coffee
The CFIA says the affected cans and four-packs may have container defects and microbial contamination linked to spoilage.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency recalled Buck Wild brand Shaft Cocktail Canadian Hard Coffee in British Columbia after Artus Bottling Ltd. initiated the recall on Oct 22 due to spoilage concerns.
According to the CFIA, container integrity defects and spoilage triggered the recall. The agency describes the potential "microbial contamination" as non-harmful and related to product quality.
Individual 250 mL cans and four-packs sold in British Columbia are affected. Affected products include four-packs with UPC 9 90312 84553 9 and individual cans with UPC 9 90312 84552 2.
Retailers and consumers must not use, sell, serve, or distribute any affected products, the CFIA warns. Anyone who purchased the items should immediately stop using them.
The recall was first published by the CFIA on Oct 26. Anyone with questions can contact the agency at 1-613-773-2342 or email information@inspection.gc.ca.
