Vancouver Whitecaps sign defender Tate Johnson to multiyear extension
The Vancouver Whitecaps have signed defender Tate Johnson to a multiyear extension through the 2029-30 season, with a club option for 2030-31.
Tate Johnson, a 21-year-old who played for the University of North Carolina, was selected 15th overall by the Whitecaps in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft.
Johnson has played 68 games for Vancouver, scoring one goal and recording five assists.
He contributed to the Whitecaps' fourth consecutive Canadian Championship, their MLS Western Conference title, and first MLS Cup final appearance last season.
