On Wednesday, the Golden State Valkyries defeated the Las Vegas Aces 83-81 in Game 2 of the WNBA semifinals, securing a 2-0 series lead and moving one win away from the WNBA Finals.
Golden State dominated early, leading by 11 entering the final quarter, but the Aces rallied late with Chelsea Gray hitting a tying 3-pointer with 2:10 remaining in San Francisco.
Tiffany Hayes led Golden State with 21 points, while Gabby Williams added 20; A'ja Wilson scored 24 points for Las Vegas in the losing effort.
Veronica Burton sealed the victory by converting two free throws in the closing seconds after center Kiah Stokes blocked a layup attempt by Gray.
The series shifts to Las Vegas for Game 3 on Friday, where the defending champion Aces attempt to stave off elimination against the surging Valkyries.
