USHG CEO Chip Wade named 2026 Gold Plate winner
Wade was selected from among nine Silver Plate winners for decades of restaurant leadership and for guiding Union Square Hospitality Group after Danny Meyer.
On Saturday, May 16, Chip Wade, CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group , received the Gold Plate Award at Chicago's Union Station during the 72nd annual Gold & Silver Plate Awards celebration.
The Food Away from Home Association presents these awards annually to honor high-performing leaders across the $1.5 trillion food-away-from-home ecosystem of manufacturers, distributors, and operators.
Wade was nominated by Nestlé Professional Solutions and PepsiCo and selected from nine 2026 Silver Plate recipients; he leads an organization with over 3,000 employees and chefs working tirelessly every day.
Richard "Dick" Marriott, chairman of Host Hotels & Resorts, received the 2026 Legends Award, calling the hospitality industry the "greatest blessing" of his life during the ceremony.
Nominations for the 2027 Silver Plate Awards remain open through September, with the next celebration scheduled for Saturday, May 22, 2027, in Chicago, as IFMA President and CEO Phil Kafarakis emphasized the industry's historical significance.
