James E. Trainor, head of the US delegation currently in Bucharest for monitoring the presidential elections, said that Romania is not excluded from the Visa Waiver programme “only because it is not yet approved”. After the US Department of Internal Security announced our country's exclusion from Visa Waiver, Trainor said that the process will not be suspended from zero, but without providing clear details about this procedure.

The representatives of the American Administration, James Trainor and Dragos Sprünciana, said that Romania was not removed from the Visa Waiver programme, but that the process entered a reassessment phase due to the concerns related to illegal immigration.
