US Fish and Wildlife designates 3,814 river miles for rare mussels

The rule covers 3,814 river miles and aims to protect species whose habitats have sharply declined from dams, pollution and invasive species.

FRANKFORT – The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is designating approximately 3,814 river miles of occupied critical habitat for four freshwater mussels in Kentucky and 16 other states.
