US EditionUS bombers join Japanese jets in show of force after China–Russia drills, Tokyo says
The joint US-Japan flight involved two B-52 bombers and six Japanese fighters to deter forceful status quo changes amid rising China-Russia military activity, Japan's Defense Ministry said.
- On Dec 11, U.S. nuclear-capable B-52 bombers flew over the Sea of Japan escorted by three Japanese F-35 stealth fighters and three F-15 air-superiority jets, Tokyo said.

- Regional militaries reported four Chinese J-16 fighter jets, an A-50 early-warning aircraft and Su-30 fighters operating near the Okinawa–Miyako corridor, while South Korea reported nine aircraft entering its air-defence identification zone.
- Japan and the United States said the mission reaffirmed their strong resolve to prevent unilateral status quo changes by force, with Japan and South Korea lodging protests and the U.S. condemning alleged radar deployments.
- The U.S.-Japan show of force marked the first visible U.S. presence since Chinese exercises began, amid tensions inflamed by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's Taiwan remarks and ongoing Chinese military pressure.
