BOSSIP Enters The Microseries Market With Two TikTok Thrillers
Each series has 20 episodes averaging 90 seconds and will expand across Urban One’s digital, television, streaming and audio platforms after TikTok.
Black content distributor Urban One, Inc. is launching two original microdramas on the Bossip TikTok account: Power & Influence and Foul Play, each consisting of 20 episodes.
"We are creating stories specifically for the way our audiences watch today," said Allison McGevna, Senior Vice President of Content at iONE Digital, targeting the growing mobile-first microseries market.
Power & Influence premieres October 19 with AI deepfakes exposing scandals at a Black-owned Atlanta ad agency, while Foul Play follows a military veteran seeking retribution after her daughter's tournament injury.
Following TikTok premieres, both 20-episode series will expand across Urban One's media ecosystem, including TV One and editorial support across Hip-Hop Wired and MadameNoire.
Jeff Meza, EVP, Head of Branded Entertainment at Urban One, emphasized that "partners can become part of those stories from the outset," with productions featuring writer Dreux Dougall and director Ty Young.
