Universal Quantum raises $100m in largest UK quantum Series A

- DCVC and Firgun Ventures co-led the round, with participation from Singapore's Economic Development Board Investments and Roblox founder and CEO Dave Baszucki. CEO Sebastian Weidt said the investor base is "meant to be as global and sovereign as possible."
- Universal Quantum is delivering a $77 million contract for the German Aerospace Center , operating as a consultant to help agencies and businesses prepare software for its quantum systems.
- Gartner forecasts worldwide quantum computing revenue of $869.9 million in 2026, though the research firm warns the market is overcrowded and expects more than half of quantum computing startups to close by 2030.
