UK's 'best' fast food retailer set to close after 5 years as it enters liquidation

Tings N Wings, a Welwyn Garden City fast-food brand, has entered voluntary liquidation after five years in operation. The family-run retailer, known for wings and Angus burgers, will now close its final location.
In January, Companies House issued a strike-off notice threatening dissolution within two months. The action was suspended in February, but the company has now chosen voluntary liquidation instead. A petition launched in October 2025 had sought to save the store.
Customers across the UK described the outlet as "THE BEST," praising its "epic" wing flavours and smashed Angus burgers. The business emphasized "dedication to quality," noting sauces made from scratch and a menu free of preservatives.
The closure removes a notable outlet from Welwyn Garden City as the UK high street faces turbulence in early 2026. Major retailers cut 380 jobs, while Revolution and BrewDog shut 21 and 38 pubs respectively.
Giles McCarthy of Netchwood Finance Ltd was appointed liquidator on March 5, according to the London Gazette. The business once operated three sites across Welwyn Garden City, St Albans, and Clacton-on-Sea before contracting to a single location.
