Ukraine plans to cover 4,000 km of frontline roads with anti-drone nets by year-end, increasing installation to 20 km daily to protect military and civilian targets.
- On Feb 25, Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced Ukraine will accelerate anti-drone nets to cover 4,000 kilometres of roads by year-end.
- Russian forces and their drones have struck hospitals, infrastructure and civilian traffic, prompting the ministry to protect logistics routes and everyday traffic using nets that snag propellers, as footage showed FPV drones caught in barriers.
- Installation pace rose from 5 kilometres per day in January to 12 kilometres per day in February, with a March target of 20 kilometres per day as crews scale up work.
- Funding and fortification efforts sped up in Kharkiv, Sumy and Chernihiv, with an extra 37 million dollars allocated and workers installing nets, Fedorov said.
- Short videos and footage showed drones snagged in nets near Pokrovsk supply road, while fishers in France donated decommissioned nets that improved safety of military movements and front-line communities.
