The Ukrainian Defense Ministry has confirmed that the Swedish-delivered Saab 340 airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft, known as the ASC 890, has been flying combat missions over Ukraine since March 2026. Sweden first announced the delivery of the aircraft in May 2024 as part of its 16th and at that time largest military aid package to Ukraine, worth approximately $1.25 billion.
