UK travel company closes down with all flights and tours cancelled
Asiara UK Ltd ceased trading after dissolving in January, cancelling all Asia tour bookings amid a pattern of UK travel company failures, officials said.
On January 21, Asiara UK Ltd ceased trading as an ATOL holder, cancelling all flights and tours from Ipswich to Thailand, China, India, Japan, and Singapore.
Companies House records show Asiara UK Ltd filed for strike-off in October last year, was removed from the register on January 6, and dissolved on January 13.
The Civil Aviation Authority says Asiara operated under a PTS franchise, and ATOL is a UK government-backed scheme guaranteeing refunds, with affected customers advised to email emma.collis@protectedtrustservices.com.
PTS Managing Director Emma Collis said the business wound down from August last year after operating tours to Vietnam, adding there are no forward bookings.
Asiara began in Vietnam and rebranded as Asiara Holidays when it entered the UK market in 2022; several other UK travel companies, including Regen Central Ltd, Gold Crest Holidays, and Simply Florida Travel Ltd, have recently closed.
