UK Retailer Which Closed in Glasgow No Longer Accepting Gift Cards or Loyalty Points
Next acquired the Russell & Bromley brand and three stores but 33 UK and Ireland locations remain under administrators and face possible closure, affecting gift card use.
Earlier this year, Next acquired the Russell & Bromley brand name, domain names and intellectual property and three UK stores: Mayfair, Chelsea and Bluewater.
After trading problems, administrators were appointed on January 21 to manage Russell & Bromley, which fell into administration in January after trading problems.
Shoppers can no longer use Russell & Bromley gift cards or loyalty points, Next confirmed, and Next's website advises customers to contact the administrators for queries.
Despite Next's purchase of the brand, most stores remain under administrators and vulnerable to closure, including 33 Russell & Bromley stores in the UK and Ireland and nine concession stores.
Next said 'While the previous operator has ceased trading, the Russell & Bromley brand will be operated by Next in the near future', but numerous high-street and outlet sites including Bath, Belfast, Birmingham, Kildare, Ashford and Cheshire Oaks remain at risk.
