UK records highest May temperature since 2012 on hottest day of the year
The Met Office said 13 sites broke the May record as heat alerts warned of rising risks for health and social care services.

- Further records may tumble on Tuesday as temperatures are forecast to reach around 35°C in London with parts of central and southern England potentially seeing 36°C; if validated, seven of the UK's 12 monthly temperature records will have been set since 2003.
