Taipei, Nov. 9 (CNA) Authorities in Hualien County are preparing for possible large-scale evacuations as Typhoon Fung-Wong approaches Taiwan, with officials warning that extreme rainfall could trigger the formation of a new landslide lake on Matai'an Creek.
According to the latest forecast path from the Central Weather Bureau, Typhoon Fung-hwang will enter Luzon Island on Monday (10th) and then turn north towards Taiwan. Based on the current forecast path, a maritime warning will be issued as early as Monday (10th) and a land warning will be issued on Tuesday (11th).
