Two Palestinian Teenagers Killed in West Bank Raid
The Palestinian health ministry said the victims were 16 and 19, as officials linked the raid to rising settler violence in the West Bank.
On Wednesday, two Palestinian teenagers, aged 16 and 19, were killed in al-Mughayyir village during an operation involving Israeli settler militants and IDF troops in the occupied West Bank.
The Israeli military stated its forces entered the village to provide security for police and an Israeli civilian seeking to retrieve livestock, firing on 'key instigators' of a 'violent disturbance' involving stone-throwing.
Since the start of 2026, at least 79 Palestinians, including 19 children, have been killed by settlers or Israeli forces in the West Bank, while at least 1,870 Palestinians have been wounded, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs .
UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories Francesca Albanese and other experts have described the attacks as organized pogroms, while UN Deputy Special Coordinator for the Middle East Process Ramiz Alakbarov noted 'virtually no accountability.'
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government has spearheaded a rapid expansion of settlements in the West Bank, which rights groups say forms part of a wider effort to seize land from Palestinians and impede statehood.
In the West Bank there are again violent clashes between Palestinians and Israelis. Two people are killed. Both sides represent the incident differently.
