Turkey's election commission has decided to hand over the mandate for mayor of the eastern Turkish city of Van to the pro-Kurdish DEM party candidate Abdullah Zeydan who won 55.5 percent of the vote in Sunday's local elections, two sources from the commission told Reuters today.
