Trump touts ‘Kansas Style Rally’ in support of Sen. Roger Marshall
On Monday, President Donald Trump endorsed Senator Roger Marshall on Truth Social, dismissing criticisms of the Republican's medical debt collection practices as a "bum rap."
Election forecaster The Cook Political Report moved the Kansas race to a "Toss Up" earlier this month, reflecting intensifying competition between Marshall and Democratic nominee Adam Hamilton.
Trump criticized Hamilton's record in his lengthy post, while Marshall addressed separate controversy by paying $1,300 to a cookie vendor over an unpaid 2020 bill.
Hamilton's campaign spokesman Tyson Brody told Newsweek that Washington is "panicking over desperate, failing politician Roger Marshall," rejecting Trump's attacks as distraction.
Trump plans to hold a Kansas rally "very soon" to support Marshall; the state is among 10 Trump intends to visit before November midterm elections.
