Trump gave $45,000 holiday gifts to Natalie Harp and two other White House aides
The payments equal about one-third of each aide’s annual salary, and White House officials said they were personal holiday gifts.
- On Saturday, the White House's Rapid Response 47 account attacked journalist Aaron Rupar, calling him a "sick, deluded freak" after he posted a photo of aide Natalie Harp accompanying President Donald Trump on his trip to Ireland.
- Senator Jon Ossoff previously criticized the president for appearing to prioritize his relationship with Harp, a 35-year-old aide, over official duties, declaring Trump would rather "travel with Natalie" than lead the USA.
- New financial disclosures released last week revealed the administration gave Harp and two other aides $45,000 holiday gifts, though officials defend the payments as unrelated to official government duties.
- Rupar shot back on X, quipping, "I know being in my 40s makes me too old for the president but Im at peace with it," in response to the White House's attack.
- Melania Trump did not accompany her husband to Ireland, while Rupar, known for monitoring the president, spends 80 hours a week tracking his activities across his 1.1 million X followers.
