Trump says 34 ships passed through Strait of Hormuz on Sunday
Trump said 34 ships crossed the Strait of Hormuz in one day, as the U.S. blockade of Iranian ports took effect.
On Monday, President Donald Trump confirmed a U.S. blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and touted that "34 Ships went through the Strait of Hormuz yesterday, which is by far the highest number since this foolish closure began."
U.S. Central Command began enforcing the blockade at 10 a.m. Eastern Monday, warning that vessels "entering or departing the blockaded area without authorization is subject to interception, diversion and capture" across the entire Iranian coastline.
