Truck Driver Charged After 52 Bricks of Drugs Seized at Abbotsford Border
RCMP say the driver faces four drug charges after officers found 52 brick-shaped packages in a commercial truck and trailer.
On October 19, authorities approved charges against truck driver Khushwinder Singh Gill, one year after Canada Border Services Agency officers at the Abbotsford-Huntingdon Port of Entry seized 52 packages of suspected controlled drugs.
During a search of a commercial truck and trailer on October 22, 2025, CBSA officers discovered brick-shaped packages hidden inside duffle bags at the border crossing.
Charges approved in British Columbia Provincial Court against Gill include importation and possession of cocaine and heroin for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Staff-Sgt. Eric Kimura of the RCMP Federal Policing Pacific Region said coordinated efforts between the RCMP and CBSA demonstrate the impact of joint operations stopping the flow of illicit substances into Canada.
David Lee, Director of the Pacific Highway District for CBSA, noted stopping illicit drugs requires constant vigilance and reflects the strong partnership between the RCMP and border officials protecting Canadian communities.
