Trial Date Set for Group Accused of Vandalising Trump Turnberry Golf Course
Prosecutors say the alleged vandalism was aggravated by a terrorist connection, and three defendants also face charges of trying to defeat justice.
On Wednesday, seven defendants pleaded not guilty at Glasgow's High Court to vandalism charges at President Donald Trump's Turnberry golf resort in South Ayrshire. Judge Lord Arthurson scheduled a 15-day trial for February 14, 2028.
Prosecutors allege the group caused "malicious mischief" on March 8, 2025, by digging up turf, spraying Glyphosate, and painting "political and offensive" slogans on buildings. The indictment claims an alleged "terrorist connection" under the Counter-Terrorism Act 2008.
Kieran Robson, 35; Uzma Bashir, 56; Ricky Southall, 34; Autumn Ward, 23; Rebecca Sian Davies, 29; John Moxley, 58; and Dylan Chiaramello, 25, all remain on bail. Robson, Bashir, and Davies face additional charges of attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
None of the seven accused appeared in person during the virtual hearing. Outside the court, a pro-Palestine demonstration gathered with protesters waving flags and addressing the rally via bullhorn.
Judge Lord Arthurson ordered a further preliminary hearing for March 15, 2027, ahead of the February 2028 trial. Defense lawyers for Southall indicated they require additional time to take instructions from their client.
