Train stopped by washed out tracks in Houston County

Summary by WDHN
COWARTS, Ala (WDHN) -- A train has come to a stop in Cowarts after flash floods washed out gravel from under the tracks. The train is blocking North Broad Street, Jester Street, and Glen Lawrence Road where they connect to Highway 84. The washouts occurred at Jordan Avenue and Cowarts Road. Crews with CSX Railroad tells WDHN the train won't move for 5 to 6 hours so repairs can be made on the tracks. Stay with WDHN for updates.
