Five people were injured and two cars caught fire after a three-car collision on the D1 highway in Ostrava on Saturday before noon. Police had to close the highway in the direction of Brno due to the accident.
Since noon, traffic on the D1 motorway has been complicated by a traffic accident that occurred at approximately the 350th kilometer near Ostrava in the direction of Brno. A traffic jam began to form at the site from the beginning and the area was completely impassable. Traffic was restored only after several hours. A fire in a tanker truck also caused complications on the same motorway section on Saturday in the direction of Prague.
The D1 motorway was blocked at approximately kilometer 350 near Ostrava on Saturday around noon in the direction of Brno by a three-car collision. According to an initial police investigation, the cause of the accident could have been improper overtaking.
