‘Today’ Ratings Have Wild Swing: How They Compare With ‘GMA’ & ‘CBS Mornings’
Today widened its lead over Good Morning America by more than 150,000 viewers as the two shows stayed separated by 56,000 in the key demo.
NBC News Today extended its total-viewer lead over ABC News Good Morning America for the week of May 4, with hosts Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin averaging 3.059 million total viewers.
The race between Today and Good Morning America remains tight in the key demographic, with only 56,000 viewers separating the two programs in the Adults 25-54 demo.
CBS Mornings, hosted by Gayle King and Nate Burleson, trailed with 1.834 million total viewers and 303,000 demo viewers for the week of May 4.
Compared to the same period in 2025, Today grew 18 percent in total viewers but dropped 16 percent in the demo, according to Nielsen data.
According to AdWeek, Today maintained its top spot despite the tightening demo race, as the competition for the key demographic continues to intensify.
