Time to celebrate in the ‘Christmas Capital of Texas’
City officials say the holiday season draws thousands with lights, parades and events that support local merchants.
Grapevine, Texas, officially launched its holiday season as the state-designated 'Christmas Capital of Texas,' hosting more than 1,400 events through the end of the year.
Mayor William D. Tate, who has served for half a century, credits the city's festive transformation to its commitment to creating a unique atmosphere for residents and tourists.
The Gaylord Texan Resort, an 1,814-room property, serves as a major hub featuring an immersive ice exhibit and extensive holiday decorations throughout the facility.
Seasonal festivities include the 'North Pole Express' beginning late November, the 'Carol of Lights' in late November, and the 'Parade of Lights' in early December.
Local officials expect to draw thousands to historic Main Street as Grapevine continues to leverage its seasonal attractions to boost regional tourism throughout the holidays.
