Timberwolves Add Isaiah Evans, Trey Kaufman-Renn in the 2026 NBA Draft
On Wednesday night, the Minnesota Timberwolves selected forward Trey Kaufman-Renn with the 59th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, fulfilling the Sellersburg native's goal of reaching the professional league.
Kaufman-Renn spent four seasons with the Boilermakers, playing 147 total games and helping the team reach multiple NCAA Tournament appearances, including an Elite Eight run.
Standing 6-foot-9 and 240-pound, the forward utilized post-scoring skills and an unorthodox push floater similar to Oklahoma City Thunder center Isaiah Hartenstein, shooting 58.7% over his final two seasons.
Analysts note significant questions regarding his transition to the NBA, specifically his limited perimeter shooting and lack of rim protection, as he recorded only 39 blocks in 147 games.
The Timberwolves may utilize him as a two-way player, where he could develop his game in the G-League, as his physical strength offers a foundation for rotational play.
