Three People Taken to Hospital After Crash on Busy Glasgow Road
Police are investigating a single-car crash after a woman died and three others were taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
On Sunday, October 25, 2026, a three-vehicle crash in Bathgate, West Lothian, killed two men during Storm Boelo, involving a white BMW 116D, a blue Citroen Saxo, and a blue Peugeot 208.
Severe weather from Storm Boelo caused major travel disruption throughout Scotland, with an amber weather warning remaining in place across most of the country until Sunday evening.
The 20-year-old driver of the BMW and the 84-year-old driver of the Peugeot were pronounced dead at the scene; a 19-year-old passenger and two occupants of the Citroen were treated for injuries.
Sergeant Dave Waddell appealed for witnesses and dash-cam footage to assist the investigation, saying, "Our thoughts are with the families and friends of the two men who have died."
Authorities closed the B708 Lower Bathville Road for several hours to conduct a collision investigation as Police Scotland continues to examine the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
