Police say Hakeem Alexander is charged with three counts of assault after a dispute over a French bulldog escalated into a knife attack.
- On Thursday, Hakeem Alexander, 34, allegedly stabbed three neighbors in Laurelton, Queens, following a dispute over a dog. Police took Alexander into custody, and all three injured individuals were transported to Jamaica Hospital.
- The confrontation began just before 11 a.m. on 229th Street near 141st Avenue when a French bulldog relieved itself on the suspect's lawn, prompting an argument between the neighbors.
- Injuries included a slashed hand for the 39-year-old woman and back wounds for her partner. Alexander also slashed his 62-year-old father in the hand when he attempted to intervene.
- Police recovered a knife at the scene and charged Alexander with three counts of assault. All three victims remain at Jamaica Hospital in stable condition, where they are expected to recover.
- "It's really senseless to get violent and go to that extreme," neighbor Bobby Sauro stated. Police confirmed the dog was unharmed and taken away by a family member.
