National Park Week honors the national parks — all 429 of them in 19 different designations across the U.S. The 85 million acres they protect in every state, the District of Columbia and some U.S. territories include such places as battlefields, military sites, historical sites, monuments, seashores, parkways and rivers plus the iconic parks.
