The project contemplates the production of an electrified vehicle and plans to generate some 3,600 jobs during construction and another 2,600 in the operational phase. “It has a strong export profile,” said Luis Caputo.
The company pledged to invest US$1,341 million to sell about 70% abroad. Meanwhile, automotive production in general falls 17% in the accumulated year compared to 2025 and 19% below the levels of 2022.
The Japanese automaker received the green light of the first RIGI approved for an automobile. The project foresees a new plant, exports of $1.28 billion annually and more than 2,600 jobs during its operation.
The national government approved the inclusion in the RIGI of Toyota Argentina’s project to produce an electric pick-up in Zárate. It is the largest investment in Argentine automotive history.
The Japanese multinational will install its production plant in the Buenos Aires party of Zárate.
