Russia has "unseenly created a new strategic supply route for Iran through the Caspian Sea," claims The Telegraph. The Logistic Corridor, which the publication calls "the Caspian Express", allows both countries "to bypass the US sea pressure in the Persian Gulf".
Russia's large ships sailed exceptionally far north, even at latitude 81.5°N. The dangerous operation shows how cramped the country has been by Western sanctions.
Russia, China, and Iran are no longer three separate threats, but instead form a coordinated axis that could lead to a simultaneous crisis in Europe, the Middle East, and the Pacific. The overstretched US Navy may be forced to choose which ally to defend, emphasizes Commander James Fanell, former head of intelligence for the US Pacific Fleet, in an interview with Defence24.
