The delegate of the government in the Canary Islands, Anselmo Pestana, has defended this Wednesday that the competence of the triage of migrant minors is within the competence of the Canarian Executive because the Spanish State manages the Center for Temporary Care of Foreigners (CATE) and the European regulation asks that this procedure be carried out "an independent authority from whom the CATE manages".
